letter from the designer: fall 2016

Prints on prints on prints...

Whenever I design our prints, I imagine someone wearing all our prints all at once with ALL their jewelry laying on their NR printed couch... our newest prints have been my favorite to mix and wear all together (did you see our patchworked cape?! prints on prints). I am obviously not afraid of head to toe prints, not for the faint hearted...

A dream of mine came true with the launch of this collection, we opened our very first NR store! Located in sunny San Clemente CA, a close commute from my home. If you haven’t yet made it in, please do. It’s just as I imagined, prints on prints on prints. The best display of what NR is all about. If it’s not NR, vintage, or gold, you won’t find it in the shop. Come in, play dress up, and make sure you visit the ladies room while you’re here, all I’ll say is NR printed walls and gold glitter floor...

letter from the designer: summer 2016

stepping out of the boho box...
the new bohemian...

in keeping our NR roots firmly planted in the lifestyle, music,
fashion and rebellions of the 60’s and 70’s we push our girl to
evolve into a new bohemian. Steering clear of what our culture
has dubbed “boho” and getting back to the real meaning of
being such...practicing individuality through lifestyle, fashion,
music, art, and literature.

when everyone goes right our girl goes left...
xx,
Mary

letter from the designer: spring 2016

Here's to the start of our creative evolution in 2016... I could not have started NR without the love and guidance of my Mother. She taught me how to sew when I was a little girl... One of the many great gifts she gave me. She helped me start and sustain this company through her guidance and love. Whether it was business counsel or design opinion, she was my confidant. My life was turned upside down a few months ago when my dear mother passed away.

It happened as I was finishing designing our latest collection, yet I was lucky enough to drop everything and make it to her in time to be with her when she passed. One of the last things I told her is I would find a way to be OK without her. I think that might be the only thing that has kept me standing upright, knowing I made that promise to her.

And I keep my promises...

She was one of the most important people in my life, she was my best friend. So getting our spring collection finished was a challenge, I was in survival mode. My Mom was always my biggest cheerleader and I intended to push forward and get this collection to market. Needless to say my process has changed... a new beginning, an evolution.

I plan to set 2016 on fire, both personally and professionally. I hope you all enjoy being a part of our NR family this year... Get ready, big things happening...

This year is for you, Mom.
